The Diagnosis

Adult friendship didn't get harder because we forgot how to make friends. We lost the conditions that made it happen naturally.

School

Repeated proximity.

Same hallways, same desks, day after day.

Teams

Shared effort.

Working toward a common physical challenge together.

Neighbourhoods

Familiar faces.

Recognizing the people around you every single day.

You can live in a city full of people and still have remarkably few places where you see the same people often enough to actually know them.

Forge changes the conditions.

⊗ The Drop-In Model

High Turnover.
Low Continuity.

  • Rotating faces: You may see dozens of people without ever really knowing any of them.
  • No social consistency: Every class can feel like starting over.
  • Easy to disappear: If you don't show up next week, nobody necessarily notices.
  • Anonymity kills accountability: It's harder to show up when no one's actually expecting you.
✓ The Forge Model

Same People.
Enough Time.

  • The same 8 women: Tuesdays and Thursdays for eight weeks. Familiarity has time to grow.
  • Shared effort: You aren't sitting around trying to make conversation. You're doing something together.
  • Real accountability: You're part of a small enough crew that your presence matters.
  • Expected, not anonymous: When people know your name and your seat, showing up gets a lot easier.
Waters Edge Fitness · 11 Lakeshore Rd W, Downtown Oakville Easily accessible across the Halton & Peel Region
Downtown Oakville Convenient to Burlington + Mississauga
Friendship needs reps.

Imagine having a crew again.

You walk in and already know the names in the room.

Someone notices when you don't show up.

"The group chat starts with 'Are we still on for Thursday?' and eventually becomes 'Anyone want to grab coffee?'"

There are inside jokes. Familiar faces. People you don't have to start from zero with every time you see them.

That's what eight weeks of showing up with the same people can create.

You don't have to work a room, manufacture new friendships, or keep putting yourself out there hoping something sticks.

We've built the conditions. You just have to walk into the room — and keep walking in.

Beyond The Sessions

Two Moments Outside The Gym

I

The Founding Table

Around Week 6, we trade the gym for a table.

Good food. Your crew. And a chance to know the women you've spent six weeks training beside in a completely different setting.

Because the goal was never just to become workout friends.

II

The Forge Challenge

We finish the eight weeks by doing something memorable together.

One optional shared experience outside the gym — accessible, fun, and designed to give the crew one more thing to take on together. The point isn't performance.

It's finishing your first Forge chapter the same way you built it: together.

The Architecture

What Makes Forge Different

1

Same Crew.
Same Coach.

No strangers joining halfway through. From Session 1 to Session 16, you train alongside the same seven women with the same coach.

By design, nobody stays anonymous.
2

Progressive Strength

This isn't random cardio disguised as community. You'll follow a coached 8-week strength program designed to help you become measurably stronger, with every exercise scalable to your starting point.

You don't need to arrive fit. You come to get stronger.
3

Beyond the Workout

Connection needs somewhere to go. Your cohort gets its own private group chat, the mid-cohort Forge Table dinner, and the Forge Challenge to cap off your eight weeks together.

The sessions create the repetition. The rest gives the relationships somewhere to grow.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers & Clarity

Everything you need to know about the Forge Oakville Founding Cohort.

You come to Forge to train. Every session is a full 60-minute coached strength workout — we're not replacing half your workout with networking exercises or sitting around talking. What makes Forge different is the environment around the workout. Instead of training anonymously beside different people every week, you'll train with the same small group and the same coach, twice a week, for eight weeks. The workout gives you something real to do together. The repetition gives you time to get to know each other naturally. We'll also have a Forge Dinner and Forge Challenge during the eight weeks, giving the group a chance to spend time together outside the gym. You don't have to come to Forge and try to make friends. Come to train. We'll create the conditions for connection to grow around it.
Each 60-minute session combines progressive strength training and functional mobility, with a focus on becoming stronger and more capable in everyday life. Expect to lift, carry, push, pull, squat, and work on core stability, balance and mobility. This isn't a bootcamp where everyone is expected to move at the same pace. Jenn coaches the group while adapting exercises, loads and progressions to each woman's starting point. The goal is to challenge you at your level — not someone else's.
There isn't one. You do not need strength-training experience, and you don't need to get fit before you join Forge. Women will naturally arrive with different levels of strength, mobility and training experience — that's expected. Jenn will meet you where you are and scale movements, loads and progressions accordingly. You don't need to keep up with the woman beside you. You just need a starting point. We'll build from there.
Let us know. Before the cohort begins, you'll complete a member intake so Jenn knows about any injuries, mobility considerations or other concerns before your first session. Exercises can be modified and scaled around your needs. And if there's something you'd feel more comfortable discussing with Jenn before joining, we're happy to arrange a conversation with her.
They're women who, like you, chose to be here. Everyone has intentionally opted into a small, consistent group rather than a traditional drop-in fitness experience. They won't all be exactly the same age, personality or fitness level — and they don't need to be. What they have in common is a willingness to show up, get stronger, meet some new people and give eight weeks together a real chance. And importantly: you don't need to know anyone before you arrive.
Absolutely. And remember: everyone is starting together. You're not walking into an established group where everyone already knows each other. Cohort 001 begins together, and once it begins, the door closes — no revolving faces or new people dropping in halfway through. You don't need to be outgoing. You don't need to make friends on Day 1. You don't need to know exactly where to stand. The first session is allowed to feel like a first session. That's what the next 15 are for.
No networking. No forced vulnerability. The focus of your 60-minute session is movement and strength. Most connection happens naturally around the activity — arriving, training together, resting between sets, helping each other and coming back week after week. We will create a little intentional space for the group to connect, including a short check-in at the beginning of each session, but you'll never be expected to share something you don't want to share. Outside the gym, you'll also have your private cohort chat, Forge Dinner and Forge Challenge.
Because small is the point. Eight is large enough to create the energy and support of a group, but small enough that nobody disappears into the crowd. Your coach knows your name, your training can be adapted to you, and you'll actually get to know the women you're training beside. Once Cohort 001 begins, it stays closed for the full eight weeks. Same women. Same coach. Same room.
Life happens. If you're sick, away or something genuinely comes up, missing a session isn't going to get you kicked out of Forge. What we do ask is that you treat the eight weeks as a real commitment and make the sessions a priority wherever you can. In a group this small, your presence matters.
Your registration includes the complete 8-week Forge experience: 16 x 60-minute small-group coached strength sessions, the same dedicated coach for the full cohort, a closed group capped at 8 women, your private Cohort 001 group chat, Forge Dinner, and Forge Challenge. Everything is designed around the same principle: enough shared time and experience for eight strangers to stop feeling like strangers.

A Note From Sarah

Founder, Forge

When I started building Forge, I wasn't trying to create another fitness class.

I kept coming back to a different question:

"Why did friendship seem to happen so much more naturally when we were younger?"

I don't think we necessarily had better social skills.

We had better conditions.

We saw the same people repeatedly. We did things together. We had reasons to keep coming back. And somewhere in all that ordinary repetition, strangers became familiar and familiar people became friends.

Adult life quietly removes a lot of those conditions.

Forge puts them back.

That's why this isn't 30 people rotating through a class.
It's eight women.
The same coach.
The same two nights.
For eight weeks.

You'll train hard. You'll get stronger. And I hope you're incredibly proud of what your body can do by the end of it.

But I'm building Forge because I want something else to happen too.

I want you to walk into Session 1 surrounded by people you don't know…

and walk out of Session 16 surrounded by people you're genuinely glad you met.

That's Forge.
